Requirement 1: Focus on the foreground
For this photo, my subject is the pink flower. It is in the foreground. The background of the photo is out of focus.

Requirement 2: Focus on the mid-ground
The subjects I am focusing on are the pink flowers in the mid-ground. The foreground and the background are out of focus.

.

Requirement 3: Bugs
The subject of this photo is a tarantula. I found it at a church in Harmony, AR.

Requirement 4: Plants
The subjects of this photo are pink flowers. I tried to arrange the frame so that the flowers were taking up most of the space.

Requirement 5: Man-made objects
This is a Lego figure. I tried to arrange the scene so it appeared larger than it actually is. I placed the camera very close to it.

Emma_Night

Requirement 1: Outdoor Night Scenes of Nature

These first two photos are pictures I took outdoors at night. Both have artificial lighting to highlight the natural features. The first photo is lit by an outdoor spotlight. The second is lit by Christmas lights.

Requirement 2: Outdoor Night Scenes of Architecture
The next two photos are external shots of architecture that I took at night. The first photo is a gazebo lit by Christmas lights. The library in the second photo is lit by street lamps.

Requirement 3: HDR Photography
The next two photos are my attempts at HDR. I selected bright subjects so that they popped.

Emma_Landscape

 Requirement 1: S-Curve

The S-curve in this photo is the path winding into the distance. The purpose of the curve here is to provide a sense of depth.

Requirement 2: Panorama

I made this panorama manually. The panorama here is used to show the entire lake.

Requirement 3: Texture

There are some different textures in this photo. They include the tree bark and the moss.

Requirement 4: Golden Hour

This was taken before sunset. The orange is still present, but the clouds were coming down fast.

Emma_Architecture

Requirement 1 - Vertical vanishing point

The vertical lines of the roof meet at the top of the house. I took this photo by pointing the camera up. I also had to set the camera to the landscape setting so that the white balance was correct.

Requirement 2 - No vertical vanishing point

The vertical lines of the fireplace are parallel. I positioned my camera so that the top was cut off. Therefore, the vertical vanishing point is not present.

Requirement 3 - Framing

The frame in this shot is the wall opening surrounding my kitchen. It's a framing device, but isn't really the subject.

Requirement 4 - Repeating patterns

The pattern in this shot is visible in the bricks. There is one horizontal pattern and one vertical pattern going on. I made sure to include the bushes in front just for variety. My camera also had to be put in the landscape setting.

Requirement 5 - Panorama

This photo was taken by rotating around the rotunda at the public library. I tried my best to merge the individual photos together to make a panorama.

Emma_Portraits

1. Requirement 1: Indoor Traditional Portrait
The key light for this portrait was overhead lighting. I was able to control the brightness settings for that. The fill light was an LED lamp. It is placed to my side in this photo.

2. Requirement 2: Indoor Natural Light Portrait
For natural lighting, I used the window pictured behind me. No other lights were used. The sunlight filtering through is the key light in this image. It is the main source of light and illuminates the subject (me).

3. Requirement 3: Outdoor Available Light Portrait
I took this photo in my backyard. I positioned the camera under the shed which provided a little shade. The sunlight is the key light. The shadows serve as a fill light.

4. Requirement 4: Flash & Ambient
For this portrait, I used the exact same lighting (key and fill) as my indoor traditional portrait. I turned on the flash on my phone camera. I think that the flash replaces the overhead lighting as the key light in this. It made the scene brighter.

Emma_Bad Photos

 1. Requirement 1 - This is an overexposed photo of the sky taken with an iPhone 13. I edited the exposure settings to make it brighter.

2. Requirement 2 - This is a motion-blurred photo of my dog, Scruffy, taken with an iPhone 13. Both my dog and my camera were moving.

3. Requirement 3 - This is an out-of-focus photo of the collage on my wall taken with an iPhone 13. I deliberately made sure the auto-focus was turned off for this.

4. Requirement 4 - This is a photo of the library with an incorrect white balance setting taken with an iPhone 13. I edited the warmth settings to make the sky appear grey instead of blue.

5. Requirement 5 - This is a poorly composed photo of rabbit decorations taken with an iPhone 13. The rabbits are centered and are lost in the background; I did not use the rule of thirds.
